Companies of Compassion: A Workplace, end-to-end Grief Support Program

Created by Claire Anderson | Grief Conversations with Claire

I provide support and breakthrough services to help organisations to care for, and manage, grieving team members at every touch point

Program Overview

The Third Place Theory (Sociologist Ray Oldenburg) suggests that while home is our First Place and work is our Second Place, we need a Third Place, a communal space for connection , conversation, and emotional processing. Yet, workplaces often lack a cultural space for grief, a structured way to support employees navigating loss.

When grief enters the workplace, employees often find themselves without a Third Place for their loss. Work continues, deadlines loom, and grief - complex, unpredictable, and deeply personal - remains unspoken.

Foster a compassionate, emotionally intelligent workplace

Support employees navigating personal loss, workplace loss, or collective grief

Create a culture where employees feel seen, supported, and valued

Equip managers and teams with tools for grief literacy
